Enhancing Programs Placement and University Services in Alignment with Industry Needs
This project, a collaboration between UASF and EDUTASK, aims to increase UASF’s capacity as an applied sciences university. The focus is on adapting curricula to industry needs, creating methods manuals, and enhancing university-industry cooperation in the wood sector. Objectives include conducting skill mapping analysis, updating curricula for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in wood sector-related programs, functionalizing lab use for students and industry collaboration, and developing a Testing Center concept. These efforts aim to align education with industry requirements, ensuring better opportunities for students and effective partnerships between the university and the wood industry
Digital Inclusiveness for CSO and Citizen Engagement in Regional Cooperation (DIGI-CORE)
DIGI-CORE, a project supported by the European Union, focuses on enhancing digital literacy and fostering inclusive, transparent, and digitalized decision-making in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. The project aims to empower civil society organizations and populations to participate in regional decision-making processes. It includes developing digital literacy programs for marginalized communities, implementing a pilot digital platform (mCommunity Platform) in the Municipality of Fushë-Arrëz, and advocating for digitalization in public administration. Activities encompass workshops, training programs, policy research, and awareness campaigns, targeting youth, disadvantaged communities, and the elderly. The project’s overarching goal is to bridge the digital divide, promote transparent governance, and support the region’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
Eduarkiva - Kosovo Digital Educational Archive (KDEA) Initiative
Eduarkiva is an initiative that intersects education, culture, humanities, and information sciences to collect, preserve, and make accessible key documents for communities. Funded by the Municipality of Prishtina, this project aims to foster a deeper understanding of history, peace-building, and remembrance through educational documentary heritage. The archive provides a platform for scientific debate, creativity, social cohesion, and cultural dialogue. Hosting and data storage are facilitated by the Kosovo National Research and Education Network. The KDEA collection includes government documents, parliamentary records, and materials from the Ministry of Education, all digitized and stored as per the Law on Access to Public Documents. Edutask Institute is actively collaborating with various institutions to digitize and share educational archives, upholding permission rights and resource attributions.
Skills Needs Assessment of the Furniture Sector in Kosovo
The project, conducted by EDUTASK for the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj (USAF) and the FEGO project, focuses on a comprehensive skills needs assessment within Kosovo’s furniture sector. This involves analyzing and mapping the current and future skill requirements in the industry, identifying different occupations, assessing skill levels, and exploring growth trends and technological changes. The project aims to forecast employee needs and skills for a five-year period and identify training providers and programs. The methodology includes mixed-method research, surveys with industry representatives, and interviews with experts. This initiative will help align training and education with industry needs, enhancing competitiveness in the sector.
Fostering Applied Research Activities in Kosovo
This project is part of the Digital4Business project, which is jointly financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and being implemented in the framework of GIZ’s Digital Transformation Center in the ITP Prizren. It focuses on augmenting innovation and applied research in Kosovo, enhancing cooperation between higher education institutions and micro and small businesses. Key objectives include assessing research capacities, providing training for collaborative research and grant application, and advising on the implementation of four selected projects, each with a grant of up to €50,000. The project also offers support in research methodology and publication.
Non-Formal Education Program for Afghan Children in Camp Liya Bondsteel
This project, a collaboration between Edutask and Hello Academy of Education, is designed to provide non-formal education with an adjusted curriculum for Afghan children at Camp Liya Bondsteel. The program caters to approximately 400 children and adolescents across various educational levels, from early childhood to early adulthood. Key activities include developing and customizing teaching plans based on initial assessments, delivering classes in core subjects like English, math, science, and arts, and providing support for children with special learning needs. The project also includes extracurricular activities to enhance social integration and development. This initiative aims to support the integration of these beneficiaries into the American education system, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and self-esteem.
Establishment and Integration of Integrated Learning Center Program
This project, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aimed to improve the quality and inclusiveness of basic education in Kosovo. The initiative focused on establishing 16 new learning centers and supporting 4 existing ones across 20 champion schools. The program targeted primarily students of grades 1-5, offering supplementary classes that enhance physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. Key components include mentor and tutor recruitment and training, infrastructure development for learning centers, and the integration of a comprehensive learning program. The project also emphasized parental involvement, community mediation structures, and sustainable educational practices, ensuring a lasting impact on the participating communities and schools.
Entrepreneurship Training For Youth
This project focuses on implementing a design thinking approach to facilitate idea generation among young entrepreneurs. The program is structured to guide participants through various stages of design thinking, including introduction to the concept, empathy and market research, business idea generation using the CANVAS model, and developing business plans. Key activities encompass lectures, individual and group work, workshops, and fieldwork, enabling participants to understand challenges, develop empathetic solutions, and create viable business models. Additionally, the project includes training on mission and vision development, competitive strategies, marketing, budgeting, and financial planning. The aim is to empower young entrepreneurs with skills and knowledge to develop innovative business ideas and plans.
School Performance Indicators Initiative
The School Performance Indicators project was developed to enhance awareness about various aspects of school management and learning development. The initiative produced seven indicators covering management, quality assurance, student performance, teaching and learning, extracurricular activities, friendly school environment, and digitalization. Aimed at informing decision-making and improvements by schools, municipalities, and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MASH), the project included a pilot phase in two schools with results to be discussed among stakeholders. Additionally, in response to the COVID-19 health emergency, a specific indicator was developed to monitor the implementation of anti-COVID-19 measures in schools, in cooperation with BIRN and FES.
Rame Lahaj International Opera Festival - RLIOF 1st Edition
The Rame Lahaj International Opera Festival, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and organized by the EduTask Institute, aimed to enrich Kosovo’s cultural scene and promote it internationally. This first edition celebrated Rame Lahaj, a renowned Kosovar tenor, and featured collaborations with international artists. Activities included master classes, concerts like “Opera Night” and “Tribute to Nexhmije Pagarusha,” and a gala evening with performances from various artists, including Rame Lahaj. The festival focused on discovering and nurturing young talents in opera, offering them opportunities to perform alongside established artists. The event successfully attracted a large audience and received significant recognition, paving the way for future editions.
Job Coaching and Mediation for Vulnerable Groups in Kosovo
This project aims to provide job coaching and mediation services to vulnerable groups in Kosovo, including working-age youth, women, persons with disabilities, and ethnic minorities. Implemented by Syri i Vizionit in five municipalities (Peja, Istog, Klina, Decan, and Junik), the project offered 50 days of specialized coaching and job mediation. The goal is to equip approximately 40 beneficiaries with the necessary skills and knowledge to secure employment in their desired fields. Activities include one-on-one coaching sessions, general advice on hiring processes, sector-specific training, and support during the job application and negotiation phases. The project is designed to enhance employment prospects for these vulnerable groups significantly.
